Steps On How to Japa to the USA

This video is based is simply from my own limited experience and information I have gathered from friends & colleagues who have moved to the US from different African countries over the last decade.

I don’t have any experience with visa denials as it is not my reality. My first visa to the US was a student visa and I got it immediately after a less than 5 mins interview. I didn’t have an extensive travel history at the time – I had been to only two countries outside Nigeria at the time I applied.

A friend of mine was denied a student visa first, he applied again and then he got it. So I know depending on where people sit, getting visas might be much more complicated. I acknowledge that.

This video is simply to serve as a guide and I hope it is helpful to get you start thinking of possibilities. PS: I am team abolish visas btw 🙂 If you have any questions please put them in the comments.

1. Student Visa: F Visa

2. Employer Visa: For instance the H1B visa

3. Self Petitioning: EB-1 or EB-2 (with National Interest Waiver)

4. O Visa: Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement (not only tech entrepreneurs but a lot of tech entrepreneurs use this) For the EB-2 amongst other things you must have an Advanced Degree and you must be able to show exceptional ability in the sciences, arts, or business, which will greatly benefit the U.S. economy, cultural or educational interests, or welfare in the future.

The O Visa is a NON-immigrant visa is for the individual who possesses extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or who has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements.

So people talented in the arts can get this visa as well.
